I honestly feel so lucky to be an interior photographer in London. I get to see some of the most beautiful homes in the world, and to capture them in all their glory.
One of the most exciting things about being an interior photographer in London is the variety of homes I get to shoot. There are homes from every style and period imaginable, from Georgian townhouses to Victorian terraces to modern apartments. And each home has its own unique character and charm.
I also get to meet some wonderful people from homeowners, interior designers, architects, and stylists. Learning about their work and their passions becomes part of my day and knowing that I’m a small part of their journey is just lovely.
Of course, there are also some challenges to being an interior photographer in London. One of the biggest challenges is the weather. London is notorious for its rain, and it can be tough to get good shots when the sky is overcast. However, this can sometimes be a benefit. At least with a rainy day the light isn’t constantly changing and photoshop can do wonders. Just don't get me started on the traffic!
Before I start each shoot I like to have a consultation with my client. I’ll find out their favourite parts of the house, the design and what they want to feature. There might be things that need to be subtly kept out of shot or they may have certain compositions in mind. Interior photography has to be a collaboration, I want my clients to trust me and that only comes through communication.
