As an interior photographer in London, I've had the pleasure of working with some wonderful interior designers. It's an amazing experience, and I'm always learning something new.
One of the best things about working with interior designers is that there is always a new idea or a fresh take on something that I’ve not seen or photographed before. They're constantly pushing the boundaries of design, and it's inspiring to be around them.
As an interior photographer in London I work with a variety of clients, sometimes I just get a short brief, the code to a lock box and off I go! But working with interior designers is a much more collaborative experience. We’ll have an initial consultation about the project and what the interior designer wants to achieve. They may also invoice a stylist in the shoot which is always great as it always enhances the shoot. And there's always croissants left over at the end of the day!
Sometimes interior designers will have a very clear idea of not only the style of photography but also the angles they want to shoot. Each designer works differently which is why communication is so important.
For me there are so many benefits working with interior designers. For one, it allows me to tap into their expertise and knowledge of design. This can be invaluable when trying to capture the best possible images of a space.
Additionally, working with interior designers helps me to develop my own creative vision as an interior photographer. By seeing how they approach design, I’m often learning new techniques and approaches that I can apply to my own interior photography.
London is absolutely the best city in the UK to find and work with interior designers. It’s not just the sheer number of properties but London as hallways been a hive of creative activity and as an interior photographer this makes it such an exciting place to live and work.
